In the name of the Supreme Commission for Elections & Referendum in the Republic of Yemen I am pleased to introduce the stable and permanent Supreme Commission website on the internet network.

A  unique site and a democratic window so that we connect to the external world with transparency and openness, with the target of informing all the site visitors and the concerned of the democratic and election affairs all over the world, the level of democratic experience we have reached in our Country

Through the providing of news, information and all  literatures related to the democracy and the elections , Like constitutional texts, laws, evidences, plans, Manuals, decisions, statistics, schedules and  data.

And all what relates to the election affair in the Republic of Yemen in addition to spreading integrated information about previous election experiences That the Republic of Yemen passed by since the achievement of the Yemeni unity in 22 / may 1990 by the man of unity and peace and the democrat pioneer his Excellency Ali Abdullah Saleh President of the Republic of Yemen that took place is with the participation of all parties and the Yemeni political organizations, And with the supervision and the Monitoring from the civil society organizations and the democratic institutions .

This has acted for the three election stations (the parliamentary presidential - the local and the referendum) a distinguished model to the youthful democracies. And it was admiration place and an appreciation & praised by the international observers its fairness and success. And we are now at the stage of the readiness for the engagement of new parliamentary elections in 27 / April 2003, This election that is gathering all energies and efforts, will precede on the official, party and citizens level   preparing a new Voter registration operation, To the electors who reached the legal age and we aspire that their number comes to ten million voters from the origin of eighteen million citizens (approximately) That is the number of the Republic of Yemen citizens according to the last demographic census .

We aim behind the inauguration of this distinguished technical site the achievement of several targets:

• The communication with the external world through this live network to give out   information for their and our benefit, on the new democracy climates of Yemen.
• The submission of the previous election experiences in Yemen for the research and the evaluation from the experienced and the concerned of the democratic and election affairs, in the international universities,  institutes and the international research centers for the avoidance of any deficiency in the performance and for the reform of the election path,  Because the dealing in each transparency and a democracy became a way that the update requires and the keeping up of the international development imposes it in all political and  economic fields.
